Use the SOCKETWorx Datasheet Dashboard to Issue Revisions and Export to Excel or PDF
Managing datasheet revisions can become time-consuming when datasheet assignments are spread across multiple Connection Worksheets. The process becomes even more challenging when a single Connection Worksheet row is assigned multiple datasheet templates.

Since SOCKETWorx introduced the ability to assign multiple datasheets to a Worksheet row, users have been able to issue revisions and export datasheets to Excel or PDF by datasheet template name. While this method remains available, the Datasheet Dashboard offers a faster, more focused alternative.
Whether a project has five datasheets or several thousand, the Datasheet Dashboard provides a convenient workspace for finding, reviewing, issuing, and exporting datasheet revisions. It is another example of how SOCKETWorx Connection Dashboards can simplify specific project workflows without adding unnecessary complexity.

A Faster Way to Work with Datasheets
The Datasheet Dashboard was designed to simplify the process of reviewing, issuing, and exporting datasheet revisions.
Instead of navigating through individual Connection Worksheets to find rows with datasheet assignments, users can work directly from the dashboard. By default, the dashboard displays Connection Worksheet rows with datasheet assignments, eliminating the need to page through Worksheet data to locate the information that needs to be processed.
The latest Datasheet Dashboard enhancement takes this a step further by listing every datasheet assignment and its current revision level when one or more datasheet templates have been assigned. This consolidated view makes it easy to review datasheets and select them for revision or export processing.
Each row in the grid represents a datasheet assignment. Key information, including the datasheet name, revision level, issue date, and the person who issued the revision, is available directly in the grid. These columns can also be searched and filtered, giving users an immediate view of their datasheets' current status.

Everything You Need in One Dashboard
The Datasheet Dashboard includes header controls for the primary datasheet workflows. Users can select Connection Worksheets and then issue revisions or export selected datasheets directly to Excel or PDF.
Placing these controls directly above the data grid keeps the workflow simple:
Find the datasheets → Select or filter them → Issue revisions or export
Users can review the information, identify the datasheets they need to process, and complete the required action without navigating away from the dashboard.
Select Individual Datasheets or Process a Group
The dashboard provides flexibility for both a few datasheets and larger groups.
When only a handful of datasheets need to be processed, users can select multiple rows individually. When a larger group is required, column filters can be used to quickly isolate the appropriate datasheets.
For example, users can filter the grid by revision level, datasheet name, issue information, or other available column values.
Once the desired group has been isolated, the datasheets can be processed together.
This combination of individual row selection and filtering makes the dashboard useful for everything from a small project with a few datasheets to a facility-wide project containing thousands.
Issue Datasheet Revisions in Bulk
Once the desired datasheets have been selected or filtered, revisions can be issued directly from the Datasheet Dashboard.
The dashboard also provides the option to automatically attach the selected datasheets to SOCKETWorx Worksheet rows.
When required, simply use the And Attach Selected option as part of the revision process.
If a revision needs to be reversed, the dashboard also includes a provision for rolling back revisions.
These options make the dashboard more than just a reporting grid. It provides a centralized workspace for managing the revision process.

Export Datasheet Revisions to Excel or PDF
The same selection and filtering process can be used to export datasheets directly from the dashboard.
After identifying the required datasheets, users can initiate an export to Excel or PDF. Depending on the reporting or delivery requirement, users can choose to export either the system Work In Progress version or the Latest Revision of the datasheets.
This makes it easy to prepare the right information for internal review, project deliverables, or distribution without manually locating and exporting each datasheet individually.

Export a Revision Level Report for All Names

The Datasheet Dashboard also makes it easy to generate a revision level report for all names associated with a selected Worksheet.
Click the Export Report button, and SOCKETWorx sends an email with an Excel file attached. The exported file is automatically named after the selected Worksheet.
This provides a quick way to communicate the current datasheet revision status without manually building a report.
Find Worksheet Rows Without Datasheet Assignments
The Datasheet Dashboard is also useful for identifying missing datasheet assignments.
A toggle allows users to change the display between names with datasheet assignments and names without them. This makes it easy to focus on the records that already have datasheets while also providing a quick way to isolate those that may still require an assignment.
This can be particularly valuable during project reviews and quality checks, when identifying incomplete datasheet assignments is just as important as issuing the completed ones.
A Dashboard That Scales With the Project
The Datasheet Dashboard demonstrates one of the key advantages of the SOCKETWorx Connection Dashboard approach: widgets can be designed around specific project workflows and scaled to match the needs of the project.
For a small project, the dashboard provides a simple way to manage five or ten datasheets without introducing an unnecessarily complicated process. As the project grows, the same tools—searching, filtering, selecting, issuing, and exporting—continue to provide value when managing hundreds or thousands of datasheets.
The goal is not simply to provide more tools. It is to put the right tools together in one focused workspace.
Save Time and Improve Datasheet Control
By combining datasheet assignments, a searchable data grid, column filtering, bulk selection, revision management, attachment options, rollback capability, reporting, and Excel and PDF exports, the Datasheet Dashboard turns a potentially repetitive document-control process into a straightforward and repeatable workflow.
Whether you're managing a small engineering project or an entire facility, the Datasheet Dashboard gives your team a practical way to find the information they need, process revisions efficiently, and produce the required deliverables.
That's the value of a purpose-built SOCKETWorx Connection Dashboard: the workflow is organized around the work you need to accomplish.
