Issue:
You placed a VIEWWorx view in a drawing from the Layout View palette. Later, you moved or resized the WorxBox in the model. When you go back to the drawing and reload the xref, the viewport still shows the old area. If the WorxBox moved, the viewport may look empty.
Causes:
- A viewport is set up from its view once, when it is placed. After that it is not linked to the WorxBox, so changes in the model do not move or resize it.
- The drawing keeps its own copy of each view it has placed. Reloading the xref does not refresh that copy. Placing the view again does.
Solution:
Place the same view again, then swap it in for the old viewport.
- Open the model and move or resize the WorxBox as needed.
- Save the model.
- Open the drawing that holds the view.
- Type
XREFand press Enter. Right-click the model in the list and choose Reload. - In the VIEWWorx Layout View palette, select the same view, set the scale to match the old viewport, and click the + (Add) button to insert it. This refreshes the drawing's copy of the view, and the new viewport matches the model.
- Move the new viewport into line with the old one. For example, use
MOVEand snap from a corner of the new viewport to the same corner of the old one. - Delete the old viewport.
Repeat steps 5 to 7 for each view that changed.
Notes:
- In step 5, use the same scale as the old viewport, so the new one lines up with your existing annotations.
- If the WorxBox changed size, the new viewport is a different size on the sheet. Line it up using the corner or edge that matters most to your sheet layout.
- Paper space annotations attached to the old viewport (dimensions, leaders) may need to be re-attached to the new one, for example with
DIMREASSOCIATE. - Make sure the model is attached as an xref, not overlaid. VIEWWorx skips overlays.
- For projects with many views, contact ECE Design support. We are working on a tool to update placed views automatically.
