Issue:

You start AutoCAD and a Worx plugin palette opens on its own — BUBBLEWorx, MTOWorx, ISOWorx, ANNOWorx, VIEWWorx or another. You did not type the plugin's command, and you want the plugin to stay out of the way until you ask for it.

You are looking for a setting to stop the plugin from loading when AutoCAD is launched.


Causes:

There is no setting inside the plugin, because the plugin is not what decides this. AutoCAD is.

  • The Worx palettes are standard AutoCAD palettes. AutoCAD remembers whether a palette was open when you closed the program, and opens it again the next time you start.
  • To put the palette back on screen, AutoCAD has to load the plugin that owns it. That is why the plugin appears to load at startup.
  • The Worx plugins that own a palette are not registered to load when AutoCAD starts. They are registered to load on demand — when you run one of their commands, or when AutoCAD restores a palette that belongs to them.

So the plugin is loading because its palette was left open, not because of anything in the plugin's settings.


Solution:

Close the palette before you close AutoCAD. AutoCAD then has nothing to restore, and the plugin does not load on the next launch.

  1. Start AutoCAD and let the palette open.
  2. Click the X in the palette's title bar to close it. You can also type the plugin's command a second time to toggle it off — BUBBLEWORX for BUBBLEWorx, MTOWORX for MTOWorx, and so on.
  3. Close AutoCAD as you normally would.
  4. Start AutoCAD again. The palette stays closed and the plugin does not load.

To use the plugin again, type its command or click its button on the Worx ribbon. The palette opens, and from then on AutoCAD will keep reopening it until you close it again.


Notes:

  • Auto-hide is not closed. If the palette is rolled up against the edge of the screen and slides out when you hover over it, it is still open. Close it with the X.
  • Do this once per plugin. Each Worx plugin has its own palette and AutoCAD tracks each one separately. Closing the BUBBLEWorx palette does not close the MTOWorx palette.
  • Nothing is uninstalled and nothing is lost. Closing a palette does not change your license, your plugin settings, or anything in your drawings.
