Many companies utilize Virtual Private Networks (VPN) to give network access to users outside of the workplace. Setting up CADWorx to find licenses using these types of connections may require a few extra steps.
After installing CADWorx, if
you’re having issues retrieving a license, open a web browser and go to http://localhost:1947.
Start by checking to see if the
key is visible under Sentinel Keys on the left.
If the key(s) are not visible
select Configuration on left.
Choose Access to Remote License
Check the box next to “Aggressive
search for Remote Licenses” and in the field below called “Remote License
Search Parameters” enter the IP address for the server the key is attached to.]
Go back to Sentinel Keys and check
to make sure you can now see the key(s).
Keep in mind that it may take a
few minutes for the localhost to show the key(s).
Try to start CADWorx again. If the key is still not visible you will need
to implement the Nethasp.ini file.
For CADWorx 2015 and earlier go to
C:/CADWorx 20XX/Plant/Assidrv. For 2016
go to C:/CADWorx 2016/Utilities.
There you will find the
nethasp.ini file. Copy it to your desktop.
Open the file and find the line
;;NH_SERVER_ADDR = xx.xx.xx.xx
Delete the semicolons and replace
the x’s with the IP address for the server and save the file.
Cut and paste the file into the directory
with your ACAD.exe file.
