The question has come up more than once on how to change the way ISOGEN lists/displays bolt information in the BOM.

Initially one would think that going into I-Configure there would be a setting.

But these settings do not have an effect on how bolts sets are listed in ISOGEN. There is a setting in CADWorx that does, it’s the “BomBoltControl” in the Configuration Settings.

These settings will affect the way the number of bolts in the set, their diameter and length are displayed in the ISOGEN BOM.

0 (the default setting) - Places the values as: QUANTITY = Number of bolt sets on the iso, ALPHA_SIZE = Bolt diameter, LONG_DESC = Adds number of bolts in a set to the description.

1 - Places the values as: QUANTITY = Total number of bolts (not sets of bolts), ALPHA_SIZE = Bolt diameter and stips the number of bolts in a set from the LONG_DESC.

2 – Places the values as: QUANTITY = Number of bolt sets on the iso, ALPHA_SIZE = Flange Size, LONG_DESC = Adds number of bolts in a set to the description as well as the bolt diameter.

3 – Places the values as: QUANTITY = Total number of bolts (not sets of bolts), ALPHA_SIZE = Flange Size, LONG_DESC = Appends the bolt diameter to the long description.

When the “BomBoltControl” is set to 1 or 3, the long description of the bolt must contain the number of bolts in the set, enclosed by parenthesis.

The ISOGEN uses the value in parenthesis as the new quantity. The number is then automatically removed from the long description when displayed in the material list.
