At times you may notice that your CADWorx command aliases are not loaded. This is often caused when CADWorx is not installed using the Windows login for the end user. When CADWorx is installed this way the users AutoCAD pgp is not updated with the CADWorx command aliases. We will need to do this manually.

There are a few steps that need to be taken to resolve this.

  • First we need to find and open our acad.pgp.
    • A quick way to do this is to launch CADWorx and at the command prompt type: (startapp “notepad” (findfile “acad.pgp”))
  • Next we need to open CADWorx’s pgp file to copy its contents into the acad.pgp
    • At the command prompt type: (startapp “notepad” (findfile “pipe_alt.pgp”))
    • Copy the entire contents of the Pipe_alt.pgp

  • Open your Acad.pgp
    • Scroll to the bottom and create a new line
    • Paste your Pipe_alt.pgp contents

    • Save & Close your Acad.pgp
  • Open your CADWorx session and type REINIT at the command line
    • Choose the PGP File

Now test your CADWorx command aliases. While you have your acad.pgp file open I encourage you to look around and see what aliases are in there that you did not know about. If you would like more information you can check out Autodesk’s help here
